You’re moving, you just have no idea where you’re going
What this actually means
Flying Blind shows up two ways. The first: nothing is tracked. No systems exist. The business is guessing. The second — and this one is more common than people admit — everything is set up and the reports arrive on schedule. None of it tells you anything useful.
Both arrive at the same place. You can’t answer the question that actually matters: is what we’re doing producing revenue? Impressions don’t pay invoices. Engagement rate doesn’t close deals. And a dashboard full of activity metrics is just a more expensive version of flying blind.
The real problem in either case isn’t the tools. It’s that nobody ever defined what the business should be measuring before they started measuring things. So the metrics that get tracked are the ones that are easy to track, not the ones that move the business. Decisions happen on gut feel. Marketing loses every budget argument. And the work keeps accumulating without anyone being able to say whether it’s working.
- No tracking in place at all, or GA4 set up by someone who’s since left and nobody’s looked at it since
- Tracking exists but the metrics being reported are impressions and click counts — neither of which connects to revenue
- The agency sends a monthly report that looks thorough and doesn’t tell you whether the spend is working
- Budget decisions are made on gut feel because nobody can draw a straight line from marketing activity to new business
- When marketing gets challenged internally, there’s nothing to defend it with — whether or not a dashboard exists
When you can see what’s working, every decision gets easier.
Everyone starts with the Audit.
Before we touch your marketing, we spend 30 days understanding it. You come out with a written report, a 90-day roadmap, and a walkthrough call with Mike where we go through everything together. Here’s what those 30 days look like for a Flying Blind situation specifically.
We’ve fixed this before.
Two businesses that had data but no insight. Both ended up with a measurement system that actually connected marketing activity to revenue.
No attribution.
Revenue gap nobody could explain.
High engagement.
Nothing converting.
Thirty minutes. Free. No pitch deck.
You took this quiz because the numbers aren’t telling you what you need to know. You have the data. You just don’t have clarity. That gap is fixable, and it’s usually faster to close than people expect.
You bring your situation, Mike brings an honest read on it. He’s had enough of these conversations to know quickly whether we can help, and he’ll say so either way.
- Which of your current metrics actually connect to revenue (and which don’t)
- What a reporting structure that actually informs decisions looks like for your size and stage
- Whether an Audit makes sense right now and what the 30 days would focus on
- A straight answer either way, even if that answer is not yet
Having data isn’t the same as having answers.
You wouldn’t be here if the dashboard was telling you what you needed to know. The diagnosis is done. The next move is yours.
